Samsung intros 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3

Samsung announced on Monday that the new generation of Samsung Galaxy Tab will arrive starting in May. Known as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, the 7-inch Android tablet will come in a Wi-Fi and 3G/Wi-Fi models.

Specifications include Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 7-inch 1024×600 LCD TFT display, and a 4000mAh battery.  Internal storage will come in 8GB or 16GB options with each offering 1GB RAM and microSD expansion for up to 64GB additional space.

Pricing and exact availability is unknown; the Wi-Fi model arrives in May with the 3G/Wi-Fi model following in June.

Offered with either 8/16 of internal storage plus up to 64GB of expandable memory, the device has plenty of space to hold your favorite photos, music, apps, videos and more.
• Enhanced User Experience: The GALAXY Tab 3 7-inch is equipped to better capture life’s moments in stunning clarity and resolution with its 3-megapixel camera rear camera and 1.3 -megapixel front camera. The GALAXY Tab 3 7-inch WiFi version will be available globally beginning May and 3G version will follow in June. The product availability varies by market and will be rolled out gradually.

    1GB RAM? Is that all? Surely the next gen tablets and phones have to get 2GB at least.

    This is a cheap tablet to compete with the other cheap web surfers like the Nexus 7. Users that want a premium small form factor tablet have the Note 8.0 as an option.
