Samsung Galaxy Tab: Reviewed
After reading about the Samsung Galaxy Tab for what seemed like years (JK, it was only two months) I never thought it would come to the carriers much less to my house. I have owned the Archos and Augen versions of the mythical Android tablet and for my money, I believe Samsung got it right and all this without a proper tablet OS.

MyTouch 4G… An Inside Look [REVIEW]
T-Mobile fans and subscribers, I would wager to say that the majority of us are sporting something from the MyTouch series if we don’t have the Nexus One. Personally, after the G1, I moved to the MyTouch 3G, then to the MT3G Slide, and now, I have had the opportunity to get my hands on the 4G (Originally to be called the MyTouch HD, remember?) I wanted to take a moment to give you the good, the bad, and the ugly. Remember, this is just one phone geek’s opinion, but hey, I’ve used every phone in the MyTouch series, so I think I have some clo

An Early Look at Winamp for Android’s SHOUTcast Integration
Music is one of the major ways on how we define ourselves. Many of us carry around our MP3 player, along with our smartphone. With larger SD cards, we’ve started to save our music on there, and move to one device, but let’s be honest, we still get sick of the same playlist over and over. Streaming radio has definitely become a solution, but apps like Pandora are only available in the US, and only certain phones offer FM radio, so Winamp has found a solution with SHOUTcast.

Hands-On Review of the OtterBox Commuter Series Case for the HTC EVO 4G
Since its mid-summer release, the HTC EVO 4G has received a fair amount of publicity. With a 4.3″ screen, it is one of the largest Android phones on the market, and it is one of only four phones with “4G” data capabilities. With increased visibility comes increased popularity, and it is clear that the EVO 4G has been well-received by the public.

EVO 4G Sense ROMS Get Power Control Toggles
A little bit of CyanogenMod, XDA, some hard work by the Android Community and what do we get? In one word, Awesomesauce! This one is truly a piece of work. After spending over 100 hours of time developing this port/mod, XDA user JsChiSurf has ported …

Flee Hearkens Back to Early 90′s Handheld Gaming
We received a tip from FrugalGames earlier this evening about their first Android game, Flee. After checking out their YouTube video and blog, I was intrigued and decided to download it and try it out. Two minutes into playing it, I was immediately transported back to the late 80s’ where I was usually found face down in a Tiger handheld.

Review: Sound ID 510 Bluetooth Earpiece. A Good Thing in a Small Package.
Being addicted to gadgetry like many of our Android Guys readers, it is safe to say that I have been through literally dozens of bluetooth wireless earpieces to match the myriad number of smartphones that I have used over the years. So I have to …

24 Hours with the Cliq 2.1 Update
I think the chief complaint behind companies who insist on having the own software overtop Android, be it Blur, Sense, or TouchWiz, is the delay in updates. Here I am, probably only a few short weeks, a month at most away from seeing Gingerbread Stock …

App Review: MultiTasking Pro
Unlike a certain fruit based crowd, us Android users have been enjoying multitasking on our devices since, well… the dawn of time (that being the beginning of Android, anything beforehand being too insignificant to be regarded as “time”). However, there has never been a really great way of switching between open apps; sure you can use the “recent apps” feature by holding down the home button, which will probably satisfy most, especially since the amount of apps shown was increased to 8 in Android 2.2. For other, more picky people like myself though, the functionality offered natively is never enough.

TransDroid – Get Your Torrent On!
I don’t know anyone who does not use Torrents for something. Everyone uses it for something, I won’t get into details as to WHAT you use it for – you already know. The point is that everyone uses is in some form or fashion. Some …

Always be on the Lookout with Lookout Mobile Security!
The phones we purchase are nice devices, we spend the money to get the best. Some people spend as much on their phone as they do their PC or maybe even more. So we should only be as respectful to them as we are with …

Graffiti for Android – kickin’ it old school
There is literally a virtual keyboard for everyone, even people who have not used a virtual keyboard since the days of the original Palm handhelds. Remember those weird little pads at the bottom, where you could spell out every letter or number? I got pretty fast on mine. The software that drove that was called Graffiti, and now that software has been brought to Android.

BeejiveIM – a Pretty IM Client
The Instant Messenger is one of the first huge changes to the internet that, in my opinion, brought on a great deal of its early popularity for teen audiences. When IM went mobile, in an pseudo-text message format, it seemed almost absurd how often I …

IcyCell Battery Door for the HTC EVO 4G
This summer, HTC hosted a smartphone-centric event in Chicago. The affair focused on the newly-released HTC Aria, and was truly a fantastic event. In addition to hors d’oeuvres, drinks and a plethora of over-zealous Android fans, a number of Aria handsets were on display. One such …
